How Orlando Voluntary Prekindergarten (VPK) Can Positively Impact Your Child

Friday, September 18, 2015
In the past, we’ve talked about how Orlando daycare and child care can prepare your children for schooling later on, but how can Voluntary Prekindergarten (VPK) continue in furthering your children’s learning before kindergarten?

Learning Effectively

By understanding how to learn effectively, yourchild has an advantage in school. Our quality VPK provides your child with the best foundational education and the tools to understand how to learn and why learning is important. We teach your child how to learn effectively in a way that they are comfortable with.

How Orlando Voluntary Prekindergarten (VPK) Can Positively Impact Your Child

Academic Head Start

Not only will your children be more prepared by knowing how to learn effectively, but they will also be more prepared for the curriculum of kindergarten. A quality VPK will help your child have better literacy and math skills to support learning down the road. It is often found that children with VPK experience perform better on standardized tests.

Advanced Skills

By attending a VPK program from a quality Orlando preschool, your children will have more advanced skills in areas such as following directions, problem-solving, and in social activities.

Kids & Company uses the Florida Voluntary Prekindergarten (VPK) Assessment to monitor the progress of the your child as they develop important readiness skills. This assessment focuses on print knowledge, phonological awareness, mathematics, and oral language/vocabulary skills. Your child will be assessed at the beginning, middle and end of the school year to plan instructional activities that meet their needs.
